General Information

FinTech World Cup is a prestigious global event powered by Dubai FinTech Summit that gathers the brightest minds in the FinTech ecosystem from around the world. It's an unparalleled platform designed to foster innovation, collaboration, and transformation within the financial technology sector.

FinTech World Cup is organised and powered by Dubai FinTech Summit, a leading force in shaping the future of FinTech and finance.

The goal of FWC is to provide FinTech startups globally with a unique opportunity to accelerate their ideas into reality through funding, recognition, and strategic partnerships. FWC aims to address the finance world's significant challenges and drive ground-breaking solutions that move ecosystems forward.

Regional Competitions

FWC collaborates with various regional partners at strategic locations around the world. Startups can participate in the regional competitions by applying directly from the regional’s partner’s website. Successful applicants will get the chance to pitch their innovative solutions at live pitching events organised in collaboration with our regional partners.

Each regional winner is selected through a rigorous process that involves pre-selection evaluation by a panel of judges appointed by our regional partners. The top 10-15 startups from the pre-selection round pitch their solutions during a live pitching event, and a winner is chosen based on various factors including innovation, market opportunity, and team strength.

Regional winners receive a range of benefits, including mentorship from industry experts, Trescon Credits worth US$ 5000, a free exhibition space at Dubai FinTech Summit, brand exposure, and the opportunity to present at the Grand Finale.

Grand Finale

Regional winners advance to the Grand Finale, which takes place during the Dubai FinTech Summit. Each regional winner goes through two rounds of final events: the Semi-Final and the Grand Finale.

The Grand Finale winner receives a Grand Prize of US$ 1,000,000 in investment, mentorship from industry experts, Trescon Credits worth US$ 20,000, brand exposure, and the opportunity to showcase their solution to a global audience of investors and potential partners.

The Grand Prize of US$ 1,000,000 is awarded either in exchange for a portion of equity related to the most recent round of funding, depending on the size of the company and its funding history.

Application and Selection Process

Startups can apply through the official FinTech World Cup website by submitting their applications. The applications undergo review by an application review committee composed of representatives from VCs, incubators, and angel investors.

Startups are evaluated based on a comprehensive set of criteria including the strength of their idea, problem statement, solution, market potential, traction, business model, key financials, and team.

While it's not mandatory, an optional video can help provide a better understanding of the startup. However, it does not necessarily increase the chances of being selected.

The number of startups selected varies among regions, but typically the top 10-20 startups among the applicants get the opportunity to pitch.

Eligibility and Participation

There are no restrictions on the amount of capital raised. FWC encourages startups at various stages to apply.

FWC is specifically focused on the FinTech sector. Startups working on innovative solutions related to finance and technology are encouraged to apply.
